Three Years of Loving Cape Town

February is often associated with Valentine’s Day, but within education and assessment, it is also a reminder of the importance of kindness, care and connection throughout the exam journey.

This month, we recognise the role that care and compassion play in education. Whether it comes from a supportive exam environment, a calm invigilator, a reassuring process or a team that understands individual needs, everyone deserves to feel supported, not just on one day, but throughout the entire exam process.

“Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference.”
– Barbara De Angelis

This message feels especially meaningful for us this year, as February also marks a very special milestone. The Tutors & Exams South Africa Cape Town Centre is celebrating its third birthday, and it feels only fitting to honour this during a month centred on care, appreciation and connection.

Over the past three years, the Cape Town centre has grown into a trusted and welcoming exam space for candidates, families and learning partners. It has been a place where exams are handled with consistency, professionalism and care, while always keeping people at the heart of the exam process.

In these three years, every access arrangement that was applied for and approved has been applied, and every exam that was registered for was implemented. This reflects not only strong systems and procedures, but also a deep commitment to fairness, inclusivity and respect for every candidate’s individual needs.

Behind this success is an incredible team. Amy, our Exams Assistant, and Shaafi, our Exams Officer, work alongside a dedicated team of invigilators during exam seasons to ensure that every exam day runs smoothly. Their calm presence, attention to detail and genuine care create an environment where candidates can focus on doing their best.

The Cape Town centre has also continued to grow and evolve. A move to a brighter, more spacious and improved venue has allowed us to better support candidates and families, and to create an exam environment that feels welcoming, organised and fit for purpose.

September 2025 marked another proud milestone, with Cape Town hosting its first End of Year Dance. This event gave candidates the opportunity to celebrate their achievements together and enjoy an in-person experience that learners in alternative education pathways do not always have access to.

This February, we are excited to spend the month showcasing the Cape Town centre, celebrating its journey, its people and the community it serves. It is a celebration of growth, teamwork and the many moments of care and commitment that have shaped the past three years.

Happy 3rd birthday to Tutors & Exams South Africa, Cape Town Centre!

We are incredibly proud of you.
